Jul 27, 2016 | Client Sessions, Dogs, Pug

Ever since I founded Jelly Bean Photography I’ve wanted to photograph a pug – I’m a total sucker for squishy faces, and they don’t come much squishier than with pugs. So you can imagine my joy (and the subsequent squeals of delight and happy dance) when I got the chance to shoot not one, but two pugs in the space of a week!
The first of my puggle friends is Bowie. Under his ‘older gent’ disguise beats the heart of a rebellious rock star, with goofiness and craziness in spades – what more could you ask for from such a smooshy little ball of fluff? I joined Bowie in his mum’s garden – I don’t normally recommend gardens as a location unless absolutely necessary, but naughty Bowie is not to be trusted in public places (go figure!) and luckily this particular garden was filled with beautiful shrubbery, flowers, and lovely textures to get some real variety.
There are lots of reasons why a session might take place at home – small, elderly, ill or timid dogs will often feel most comfortable in familiar surroundings. Safety and comfort are always top priority, so if you’re thinking of booking a session but worry that your dog won’t cope well out in an unfamiliar place, don’t worry! I’ll work closely with you and your pet to choose the perfect location and still get great photos.
